A singer says she “saw hell” after suffering complications during surgery that left doctors struggling to revive her. Paty Muñoz was left fighting for her life when doctors struggled to wake her after surgery - and says she had a chilling near-death experience while under anaesthetic.

The 57-year-old star said: “It was scary, it was hard for me to come back from the anaesthetic. It was only for a short time, but there was a small risk. General anaesthesia always comes with a risk, no matter what you do.”

While she was unconscious, Paty said she endured a horrifying vision. She said: “I was in a horrible dream. I remember it well. I was in a somewhat ugly, desperate place.

“It was like, I don’t know how to describe it, there was lots of mud and heads sticking out of the soil crying, like in a horror movie. It was like hell.”

The Mexican-born performer said the nightmare ordeal happened in 2019 during breast surgery, and the experience has left her deeply wary of plastic surgery ever since. She said the scare made her far more aware of the risks - and even convinced her to cut down on smoking.

She said: “They told me ‘it was hard to wake you up, stop smoking’. I cut down a lot after that. That was in 2019.”
